    Of A Revolution is a rock group from Rockville, Maryland, formed in 1996. Marc, the main vocalist/guitarist, Culos, the drummer, Richard, the guitarist, Benj, the bassist, Jerry, the saxophonist/guitarist, and touring members Jon, the trumpet player, and Mikel, the keyboardist, make up the band. The band has produced eight studio albums together, the most recent of which was The Mighty in March 2019. The band is known for its live shows and summer tours. They have made 6 live albums, the most recent of which was Live From Merriweather in November 2019.     Through years of rigorous touring since the late '90s, O.A.R. has evolved from a collegiate jam band to a sensational chart-topper with a refined alternative rock vibe and a large grassroots fan base. Founded by four Marylanders and one native of Ohio, O.A.R. soared to national prominence with their self-released 2001 album, Risen, with strong showings on various Billboard charts, including the R&B and hip-hop charts. Two of their major-label albums garnered widespread success in the next decade. Along with a lot of traveling and C.D.s featuring live events, they continued to develop their live fan base.

     

    Since boyhood, Marc was friends with Culos; he also performed in bands with Richard and Benj in Maryland. An independent demo called The Wanderer, released in 1997, was the first time Jerry and the other band members recorded in a professional studio. In Israel, Marc and Chris wrote many of the songs on their first album, recorded in Chris' basement on a small budget.
